Removable Lid Plastic Enclosures
Removable lid plastic enclosures begin with a U-channel with two end caps forming a four sided enclosure. The end caps can be removable as shown, but are typically welded in place. Next, an internal rail with heat staked brass inserts gets solvent welded to the inside perimeter of the plastic housing allowing for the cover to screw down flush with the four side walls of the plastic housing. If a weatherproof enclosure is desired, a gasket can be installed on the internal rail. This enclosure generally uses standoffs to mount internal PCBs or LCD displays. The mounting ears as shown are optional.
